I've never known much about soccer.
I DID know the World Cup was a soccer event.
And that's about it!
Yesterday, we had our friends, the Klatte family, over to watch the WC. Rob is Purdue women's soccer coach; therefore, he had a ton of knowledge and passion waiting to be passed on to all of us! I prepped our house for the grand event. Our front door planters.
Getting little lunch sandwiches ready.
Soccer mints!
Emily's lovely gerber daisy and balloon bouquet (from my sister and her family) arrived and made a BEAUTIFUL centerpiece!
The kiddos getting ready to eat lunch.
Quinn and his little friend Aiden were so excited to play with Emily and Laney's Star Wars collection!
The girls and a little Barbie play!
The guys focusing in on the game!
Funny thing happened...the game began at 2:30pm and at 2:29 our electricity went out! I thought the guys were going to DIE! It came back on a few minutes later! Whew!

While the guys cheered on team USA downstairs, the gals and kiddos watched upstairs. But...we decided to make red, white and blue fabric garlands too (for team USA, Flag Day and the 4th)!
Each family made one.
Here's ours.
After our craft, out came the snow cone machine! YUM-O!

After a 3 hour nap, Henry decided to finally join the party...Izzy and my baby!
***Notice that there aren't any pix of Alyssa and me. Right before our soccer party, we went for a 6 mile run. It was awful! The temps were way high, and the humidity was just as high. Later we learned that there was a heat advisory! We had to walk some...a lot. I was ready to take off my running top and tie it around my head. If it was white, I would have used it as a surrender flag. We thought about asking a man on a Dixon riding lawn mower to give us a 2 mile lift. Needless to say, even after showers, etc. we were shot and didn't want to be in pix. I think my red face finally returned back to its normal color by dinner! Ugh!

After our fun soccer party, we were all ready to relax. I was tired after my horrendous run, and Jon was tired because he did a triathlon in the morning. We had family movie night and watched UP and UNDERDOG.
What a great way to wind down a wonderful day!
Super cute pix! Thank you! We all had so much stinkin fun & it was super duper yummy!!! The run nearly killed me! Finally after 24 hours, I think that I have fully recovered!!! Love you guys!!! xoxo
