Cousins AND Best Friends

On Sunday night, Jon's family gathered in front of our woods for some family photos.

I love behind the scenes information so...

1. It was way hot and muggy. No wind.

2. I truly believe that the mosquitoes were related to the Cullens (vampires).

3. I wore my sitting outfit, since I was supposed to be sitting next to Grandma.

4. Henry cried and slid down my body as I held him, so Jon sat with him for a try or two.

5. Jon had remnants of red permanent marker all over his legs from the triathlon that he did on Saturday. I giggled as I looked down as his marked up thighs!

6. An airplane was spraying a nearby field and went right over our heads. Henry stopped crying when it was within arms' reach. This is what he is looking at in the picture! The family photo gave the four girls (Emily, Laney and cousins Megan and Madison) the opportunity to spend time more time with each other, even though they see each other daily, since we all live down the same lane.

(L to R: Laney, Madison, Emily, Megan)

Emily is the oldest. Megan is 4 months younger. They are in the same grade. Next is Madison (who is 3 years younger than the older girls). Laney is 10 weeks younger than her. They too will be in the same grade.

I believe that these 4 little girls are more like sisters.

I wouldn't change it for the world.

This past spring at school, Emily was pushed down at recess by a little boy. Cousin Megan wasn't too far off and immediately trailed after the bully. Soon, the little boy returned back to Emily (with Megan at his side). He apologized. When the girls told me this, they were so proud!

Emily: He knew that we were best friends, but he didn't know that we were COUSINS! (In a duh tone).

I love that these four little girls are best friends, cousins, neighbors and basically sisters. They will always know that there will be someone who has their back... Someone who loves them and will always be there for them.

And it will take years for them to realize how amazing this is.

And Henry? Who's seriously going to mess with a little boy who has 4 older girls who will always walk in unison in order protect him to the ends of the Earth? I seriously doubt that anyone wants think of the consequences! Ha!

  1. What we go through to "capture the moment" and put it on display for all to see.

How sweet that the girlies get to live so close to one another and spend quality time together.

  2. I absolutely adore these pictures, Lauren! I was hoping you would post some. The girls are beautiful, love the shots of them walking down the lane - your girls are very lucky indeed to have such close cousins whom they consider to be friends, as well. That bully had no idea what was coming!

Oh, and I see you are reading Breaking Dawn. How far into it are you? It's a doozie. I wasn't too happy with the first half of the book, but the book redeemed itself by the end.
