Red, White And Blue...And A Wedding Too

We had a busy, busy, busy holiday weekend!
Saturday night we took the kiddos to eat at Red Robin. This is the best shot I got!
We then did a bit of shopping.
Jon told me to get out my camera while he hid Laney behind him...those two...always joking around! BUT...this pix is more than true!
My sweet boy was wiped out...and still wouldn't let go of his red balloon!
Sunday...THE 4TH OF JULY....was full of fun, food and friends! We went to our friends' pool party! After swimming so much, my prince decided to make some calls to Sesame Street! I'm soooo happy that we took our pack-n-play for Henry!

Emily and Laney loved swimming with all of the other children...and DADS! (Not sure who had more fun!)

We cleaned up for dinner then traveled out to our friends', the Klatte's, for some more festivities! Our WONDERFUL hosts...Rob, Alyssa and baby Aspen!

Their daughter Isabella with Em.
Their son Quinn...cupcake face...adorable!

Emily and Laney had NEVER tried their own fireworks before! (I know...we deprive our children.) With Rob's help, Laney loved throwing these "snappers"! (First timer with fireworks and she doesn't have shoes on...nice!)

Emily and her first ever sparkler!
Is this the face of a pooped-out baby? Sweet, sweet boy is telling the 4th of July to Kiss Off!
We left our lovely Klatte party and went to our other friends' to watch the town fireworks! Here are the LADIES!

And all of the cute kiddos!

Jon and Henry enjoying the fireworks. No...it's not cold...just a lot of mosquitoes! BZZZZZZ! Ugh!

Laney and her little friend Griffin. They are in the same preschool class. They will graduate high school together! So cute!

Today we bought a little water table from friends...only $10! Whoo Hoo! They made a wooden brace...so it won't tip! Laney and cousin Megan checking it out.

Henry Oliver was in absolute HEAVEN! I knew this little guy would love it!

Such a fun weekend....and the wedding part? That would have been 12 years ago...July 4th....a pretty cute guy named Jon and a less nutty gal named Lauren tied the knot!
I love having a 4th Of July anniversary. (See our story here.)
Hope you all had a great holiday weekend!

  1. Happy wedding anniversary, Lauren & Jon! What a fun way to celebrate a holiday. :) Looks like you all had a great time this weekend commemorating both Independence Day and your anniversary. Henry is going to LOVE that water table this summer, you'll have to drag him away! Oh, and I hear you on the mosquitos - we were outside for only an hour or so last night and this morning I counted up EIGHT mosquito bites on my legs, no fun!
