The girls and I have been in the art room, creating up some fun ART!
An artist has to have great space in order to create; therefore, I added a few changes to my art room.
I FINALLY got a work table! Hooray! The room is small, so it's been quite a challenge to find the perfect size.
And remember this stool?
I had four of the ugly ducklings. The first, I painted and it was auctioned off at Jon's Grandmother's church last winter!
Three left...I took two, painted them and added ribbons!
I didn't paint them like the first one, since I have so much going on in the art room. The details would get lost in the busy room.
I added a bit of pattern to my room as well. I had an ugly cork board that will stand Armageddon! The cork had chunks out of it, so I added patterned paper, then hung another fabric board on top of it!
Some fun fabric boxes are great storage above my cabinets! My sister gifted me this fish made from scrap metal from a lovely art shop on Tybee Island! I added some black, white and green ribbon. Makes me think of the beach every time I look at it~swoon~!
The girls LOVE creating on the new table!
And my personal space...
Every morning I wake before the children, and am at my computer, drinking my frappuccino, while watching the sun come up through the woods! (This picture was taken out of my OTHER art room window. So beautiful! That orangish light? Jon's grandparents' home...our neighbors!)
And more creating... A little bit of artwork for two adorable mermaid loving girlies who live across the country!
I hope they love their paintings!
And finally, Jon and I collected so many neat rocks at a Michigan beach during our vacay a few weeks ago. I had a vision....here it is.
I bought a 5x5 canvas and painted it. I added aluminum foil to the top for texture. Then painted it....black, then white, then green. I added gloss all over. I tied some beautiful silver and gold threads to the rock and glued it to the canvas. I then dry brushed some metallic powder all over the canvas! I love how it turned out.
I plan to make about 16 of these...4 rows of 4..each canvas featuring one beautiful and unique rock. Now, if the canvas store just had MORE OF THESE CANVASES! Yep, I can't find any more!
I'm determined, because now I have a lovely room to create in, and cute helpers...who share my Twizzler love while creating!
Love, love, love the room!!!! Can I come over to create?????

ReplyDeleteLOVE your art room!! Love how it looks out into the woods, too! It's so cheerful! I sooo wish I had an art room for me an my kids. We plant to enclose the back porch in the near future and then we'll finally have a place and it will be WONDERFUL! I plan to do it in a bright green, too, so I LOVED how yours is! And how fun with the black and white! I do artwork, too, although not as much as I'd like with my 3 little kids: someday I'll get back to it!
