Riding The Waves

Our dear friends live in the same town that Jon's triathlon was in, and every year we meet up after Jon finishes!
We've known the Whaley's since our college days back at Purdue. Jon and Travis were good ol' Theta Chi's and Jennifer and I met through a mutual friend. Jon and I hooked Travis and Jen up for a barn dance and the rest is, well...history!
Travis and Jen have a nice place on such a beautiful lake. Oh how we enjoyed their boat!
Here we are getting ready to leave the dock. Their girls stair-step ours. Wow, did those four girls have fun! (Kate, Emily, Grace, Laney)Travis even let Henry drive a bit! Watch out! Ready to drop anchor! My adorable family, just chillin' in the lake! Our girls have never been in a boat; therefore it was all new...and boy, did they LOVE tubing!
Here are the older girls, Kate and Emily! Weeee! The younger girls, Grace and Laney! Cuties! Emily and Jon...Jon eventually fell off, while his 7 year old daughter hung on! Way to go Em! Jon tried a little skiing! Even after a triathlon, this guy wasn't tired! Jennifer and baby Jack! Awww! Henry and I being blasted by the wind! A big wave from our little fish! Pledge brothers...17 years later! On our way out of the lake community, we noticed these beauties in someone's yard!
Yes, they are real!
Jon said they had to be pets because they were not afraid one itty bitty! I just rolled down my window, took the shot and said hello to them! What an amazing day spending time with wonderful friends on the lake. Thanks Whaley family! We were definitely WIPED OUT, but we all had smiles on our faces! After bubbly baths, the children were in deep sleep!
And today? My sweet friend had the whole Purdue women's soccer team over for lunch (her hubs is the head coach)! I helped a bit. See the luncheon HERE Seeing those gals really made me want to get my body in major shape. (That thought passed as soon as I saw the cookies! Ha!) But...I'm the one who got the best gift...the caterers over shot; therefore, there were a TON of leftovers! My family was loving me when I got home! Yeah!
What a wonderful weekend!

  3. What a fun weekend! I bet the girls loved tubing - I haven't been on one in years, but from what I remember they are fun but I was always sore and bruised for days! How very neat to spend time with friends and know that you played a role in beginning to build that family. :)
