Before And After: Antique Desk and Chair

Two months ago...

That is when Jon's mom brought over this beautiful set.

She bought it from a local antique store.

It was the perfect FIT to her new guest room, sewing room...

Grandchildren's room!

BEFORE:

Her inspiration?

Sea glass...

Oh so beautiful!

Blues, aquas, lavenders...

and a touch of black and white check.

AFTER:So this amazing set became my summer project.

I cannot even count the hours spent painting.

I loved every painting minute!

The girls would create their own masterpieces along side me.

Oh what fun it was painting with my girls.

Diet cokes were my must (they had lemonade).

Humming along to ...and sometimes flat out singing to many favorites..

Coat one was Jason Mraz.

Coat two...Dave Matthews and some Odis Redding.

Coats 3-7...Bob Marley!!!!!!!

Gloss Varnish...the grand finale....Jack Johnson.

I added some fun ribbons...tied them on to Kathi's FUN ART!

I look at this creation and think of my three children and my two nieces...

I think this set will be used quite often when they all play SCHOOL!

It will also serve as a bedside table...

Such a happy piece!

It is now sitting in it's new home....

on top of new carpet,

against fresh paint and wallpaper,

and beside a lovely four post bed with new linens.

I bet IT's very happy.

Wonder how many times Jon's mom has PoPpEd into the room...

just to have a peek !

I hope Grammie loves it....oh...Papa Larry too! ~wink~

And to celebrate the departure of the summer project that created a lot of fun memories...

Jon and I bought a chair for his office.

Black leather.

We've been holding off because of the leather issue...

2 cats, a dog and three children....leather?

Well, it's been home for 30 minutes....

looky who loves it?
