Goodbye Fall Break

Monday...

The girls were out of school due to parent/teacher conferences.

I thought we would take advantage of the wonderful day.

*****
Taking down Laney's birthday flowers seemed to be fun for everyone!

We left them for George to enjoy...

They were flat as pancakes a few hours later!

And what is a special Monday without a special breakfast?

The girls have NEVER....EVER...

but I let them...

eat cake for breakfast!

Milk bubbles make it that much better!

(About 3o seconds after I took this picture, Laney ran to get something...and Sacco took her cake! Yep, put her front paws on the chair and PRESTO!)

This afternoon while eating lunch, Emily looked out the window and GASPED!

Two bucks...just looking in at us!

By the time I got my camera, they were a bit further out in our woods.

So big...

So beautiful...

I wish I could tell them to spend the next few months in our woods.

I'll keep them safe.

I'll even feed them!

While Henry was napping, the girls and I carved pumpkins!

This is bad, but my girls have NEVER carved a pumpkin before!

In the past, we always painted pumpkins.

The girls drew their own faces...

then made some crazy faces when they had to clean the pumpkin out!

ICKY!
They were so proud of their pumpkins... They even gave them bows!
And finally added some bow bling!
The day was lovely...mid 70's...
so we enjoyed the day at our own pace...
Tonight Jon and I met with Emily's teacher.
We had her take this picture before our meeting....
We told her that we hope that we would still be smiling AFTER our meeting!
(Of course we were!)
Horrible dress, but I'm loving my new eggplant tights!
Anthro had a gazillion colors and I really wanted mustard...
I'm thinking mustard would probably only look good on a supermodel.

Here's to cake for breakfast, bucks, pumpkin carving and colored tights...
firsts on our LAST day of break!

  2. Lauren! How are you, girl?! I'm so happy to be back from my blogging hiatus and checking in on all of my most favorite bloggers - including you! Looks like you and your sweet family have had lots of fun this fall. Loving the eggplant tights - very fierce with the brown leather boots. :)

By the way, I'm interested in having you do a piece of artwork for Alexandra's new "big girl" room. Do you have any availability? If you're too busy, just let me know!
