A FRESH Start

I love Sunday evenings.
Always the last HURRAH before the week days begin.
On this special Sunday,
Nana (my dear friend's MIL) handmade these AdOrABle flip flops for the girls while she was in Seattle!
The girls were tickled!
They wear the same size....
they started to think....
then the switch took place.
Now each girl has an orange and a pink flip flop.
My sweet mismatched girls.
(This is BEFORE the switch-a roo...obviously!)

To continue our Sunday evening...

Laney asked for these yummy pretzel, Rolo, M&M treats!

Yep, we all DEVOURED them! MMMMMMM!

And just a bit of FYI...Love Jon's shirt, don't you?

It is as old as the hills!

I think it may say 1981 on it.

It is so thin...I HAVE to treat it like it is a newborn...very delicate!

It's time is coming though!

After dessert, we got out the tunnels!

Our tunnels remind me of the BLOW UP SPACE STATION that would come to our elementary school. Our class would go in, sit in the dark and look at constellations. I never got the whole constellation thing, but I enjoyed the dark...so peaceful!

Everyone...enjoyed!

...until some adorable boy in a green shirt pooed in his diaper...and gassed everyone out of the tunnels!

I pray that our kitty George cannot smell...

because if he can...then he's really NOT RIGHT IN THE HEAD!

He sat in the tunnels after the GREAT STINK OUT

He didn't mind it a bit!

Fresh baby, fresh girls, reading books in FRESH BLEACHED sheets!

Goodnight, Goodnight Sunday!

Kick It Boilers!

Tonight we went to our first ever soccer match! Our great friend, Rob, is the Purdue Women's Soccer head coach, and we went to cheer on the Boilermakers!
It was a beautiful evening...
the girls enjoyed some craft time.
(Oh...and major junky junk food!)

Sweet Henry chilled in his stroller for a while!

This afternoon I made signs for the girls to hold.
Emily displayed hers!

Showing some Boilermaker spirit!
Coach Rob's mother is standing with the girls!
Jon and I showing some soccer pride!
Boiler up!
(The cutie in the hat walking away from the huddle...that is the assistant coach. Yes, she's THAT tiny! Love her!)

Coach Rob in action!

Laney and I showing our black and gold spirit!

My prince charming wasn't too interested in the game.
Landscaping was on his mind! Ha!

All boy...loves to roll in the dirt!

After the game, all of the girls were so sweet to come over to my girls and sign the posters I made!

Yes, my girls said THIS was their favorite part!

Now each girl has a poster for her own room...
signed by players and all coaches! Yippee!
My sweet friend's daughter said we should put them on EBAY! Ha!

After the game, the girls, along with coaches kiddos took the field!
Laney is dancing.
Emily is doing a backwalkover.
(I told Em she was doing the WRONG sport on the soccer field!)

It was such a fun game!
What an great experience!
Thanks so very much Klatte family...
we definitely felt like V.I.P.s!
(The girls even got a locker room tour by the coach...and that is all they talked about on the way home!)
...And of course, we HAD to take a drive through campus...
PURDUE UNIVERSITY
...a drive down memory lane...the place Jon and I met.
Then it was a campus ice cream stop. YUM-O!

Silence...

Today took it's toll on me.
I am mentally drained.
A much anticipated trip to the doctor for one.
(Don't worry...everyone is healthy.)
For another...a yucky fever!
The house is now still...
silent children...
hopefully dreaming wonderful dreams.
I sit on my porch...
Just Big George and me.
It's 70 degrees...thank goodness for the amazing chill.
We listen...
and feel alive...
waiting for what tomorrow will bring...
I'm wishing for a much better day.
Off to check on each of my three sleeping babies.
And perhaps grab a cardigan.
George and I plan to sit out here FOREVER!
Our thoughts will blow with the breeze.

Hip, Hip, Hooray...Preschool...1st Day

Laney was the first of the children to run down the stairs this morning.
She was ready to go, go, go to preschool!
Henry and I walked her in to preschool...
she instantly noticed classmates from last year...
They started to play, like no time had passed.
Laney's teachers are the same as last year.
Half of her classmates are from last year as well.
Laney is excited to keep old friends...
but excited to make new friends as well.

She told me that there is a girl named Curly...

and Laney's teacher, Ms. Linda gave Laney popcorn to hand out...to make new friends.

Oh, my sweet Laney has quite the imagination!

I love it!

I think her mama has quite and imagination too.

It must be the "LEFTY" in us!

Speaking of lefties...here's my baby's 1st color sheet of preschool!

After preschool, Laney, Henry and I met my friend Alyssa and baby Aspen at our local coffee shop/bakery for lunch!
And a HELLO KITTY pez gift for my sweetie!

After lunch, Henry went down for a nap.

It seemed a bit quiet.

I went to check on my little girl...

she didn't even make it to her bed!

Here's to a GREAT first day at preschool!

'Twas The Night Before Preschool

'Twas the night before preschool...
and what do I see?
My 4 year old daughter...
oh so cute as can be!
Yesterday she passed her evaluation test...
she will do GREAT with all of the rest.
Then home to play with her very best friend.
Morning cuddle sessions will soon come to an end.

This morning she was up...

she chose her dress.

She has a good eye for accessories,

I must confess.

She asked for a fairy necklace...

pretty and blue.

So I made her one...
may all of her wishes come true.

I gifted Laney and cousin Madison each with a new book.

Tonight Emily, Laney and I sat down...

I would read...they would look!

After soccer practice, Daddy brought home ice cream for all!
After baths, ice cream and a new book...what a ball!

(Ummm...not sure why the white blankie is on her head????)

My four year old is fast asleep in her bed.

Visions of preschool dancing in her head.

I see a smile on her face...and all I have to say is...

tomorrow....the first day of preschool...it's going to be a FANTASTIC day!

SMORE Weekend Fun

We wrapped up our weekend with a bit of fun, a bit of YUM!
Suzanne (Jon's sister) and Kyle invited us down the lane tonight...
FOR SMORES!
(We were hoping for an invite, so we prematurely bought the goods.)

What a fantastic way to end the weekend.

And...we ALWAYS dress up for the occasion! Ha!

The feel of flip flops between your toes,

The smell of a camp fire,

And tasting those OH SO DELIGHTFUL smores...!

*************************

Laney loved roasting the JUMBO marshmallows!

(Thanks Grandma..the marshmallows were as big as my fist!)

My girls had at least 3 JUMBO smores...each!
(Oh...I managed to force a few down myself! Oops!)
Jon was loving his as well. I guess you can eat JUMBO smores when you run 17 miles, huh? Sweet cousin Megan...YUMMY! And did Henry love smores? Not even interested! He was too busy throwing rocks...and loving every minute of it!

Baths were essential after our SMORES party...
the kiddos were quite sticky!
*********

So here's to a GREAT Sunday night.
Sunday...a fresh start...a new week!
I hope you all make it a WONDERFUL week!

Soccer Saturday

This morning...our first soccer games of the season...
and it RAINED...
The.Whole.Morning.
Here's Emily...ready to watch her sister play her very first match!
And Laney's yellow team takes the field! Looks like Laney is stretching out! The assistant coach is our good friend Brian, and my dear friend Kristen's son is in the front of the picture. Kristen and I were friends at 3. I still cannot believe that our kids are teammates! Run cute Laney! Post match line-up! Coach (Aunt) Suzanne and Brian did a great job! Oh and the kiddos...SUPER! Post game sweat? Nope...drenched from the crazy rain! Way to go Laney! Great first soccer match! While it rained more, we moved over to Emily's field. Poor Henry and I stayed under my HUGE umbrella the whole game!
Coach Jon listening to Assistant Coach Lacey's daughter Morgan. My other friend's son, Mason and darling Em! Ready to start! Rain...go away! But...what a fantastic game Emily! Yeah!
We were all a bit soggy once home. Hopefully the weather will dry up by next week's games!

Here's To An Artsy FRIDAY

Yesterday, I took Emily to her first after school art class at our local Y.
She was EXCITED before!
She was even more EXCITED when I picked her up an hour later!
I wish I could have joined her art class.
Not because I wanted to hover over my little girl....
because I've never EVER had an art class.
I'm afraid to take an art class.
I probably do everything WRONG!
Oh well...I like my own rule...NO RULES IN ART!
Sweet Laney is quite the artist herself.
Here are her Barbies...at art class.
Sacco looks a bit interested in class too!

A Chocolate Goodbye

Yesterday...another afternoon spent in the art room.
I have so many projects right now....and it's FUN!
My sweet Laney is my artist-in-training.
The girl can paint!
It must help to stick out her tongue. When she is concentrating, her tongue sticks out. So does Henry's. Genetic? :)
The children's babysitter, Carly, is leaving for college today.
The girls and I dropped off an INSANE amount of candy to her last night.
Who wouldn't befriend an adorable girl with a ton of candy?

We are definitely going to miss Carly!
