Our Adult Halloween Party: The Costumes

Our 2010 Halloween party went by with MANY laughs!

Oh what great (and mighty creative) friends we have!
****
So...here are the costumes!

Some of us decided to try out celebrity costumes...

While we laughed at our celebrity costumes....
oh WOW did these couples bring tears and HUGE laughter!

...And ...we were so busy laughing at everyone's costumes....
we didn't see this random sneak into our party!
NOBODY knew who it was!

SURPRISE!
It was one of the couple's daughter just having fun with everyone!
So....after the costume fun....
the real fun was just about to begin......
stay tuned!

Monster Mash: Children's Edition

Everyone was up before the sun...
warm fuzzy bear slippers and all.
Excitement!

Soon dressed and ready to go...

to school!

Enjoying some Halloween fun there!

Yesterday afternoon I put together some goodies for Emily's class.

While assembling,

a Halloween friend decided to visit!

Black cats are my FAVORITE!

Not to worry...this is just my nieces' kitty, Daisy.

She comes down the lane because I may or may not give her kitty treats.

******

So, back to today...

After dropping off Em and her treats,

Laney, Henry and I prepared for Laney's Pumpkin Party at preschool!

My pumpkin scarf...a must...

and my chucks...a must since I knew I would be crawling around on the floor. And I brought out my little Halloween pin too!

Look...it's my kitties George and Puffy!

Too bad they don't wrap their paws around each other in real life!

I was a bit nervous about taking Henry to school.

But, he was super!

He tore down the children's block upon arrival!

And how my pumpkin baby just giggled!

I had the children play a little game...toss the bean bag into the pumpkins!

Henry did this the whole game!

After the game and a DVD/story reading of THERE WAS AN OLD WOMAN WHO SWALLOWED A BAT....

Treats!

Laney and her friend Griffin.

Cousin Madison

What a GREAT Pumpkin Party!

Here's to some great party favors!

Wishing you an SPOOKtacular Halloween weekend!
It is supposed to be lovely here.
I just took this picture out my window.
So beautiful!

Happy Halloween everyone!
Our adult Halloween party is tomorrow night,

She's 5 And Ready To Jive

This morning, my dear Laney Isabelle turned 5!
This morning at exactly 7:18AM.
Normally, she is up and ready to go,
but I guess we all get a PASS to sleep in when it's our birthdays.

And what did my sweet tooth order for her special birthday breakfast?
WHITE POWDERED DONUTS!
So healthy...
so yummy.
Little brother ate them right up too!
The treat bags were a hit at school...
okay, the chocolate was a hit...
the carrots...not so much.
Laney received a hat and her classmates sang to her.

I took the birthday girl and Henry to the library this afternoon.
New books and movies!
And a lunch trip to McDonald's is always a treat!
*****
This evening, my 5 year old requested a taco dinner.
After dinner...PRESENTS!
*****
Beauty and the Beast Barbie! She sings too! And what is Belle without her Beast? Yippee!
And oh yes, the DVD had to jump in there.
While little sister opened, big sister inspected the goods.

And someone now has a major crush on Belle!
Hooray for 5!!!!!

And the last gift came from Daddy.
Oh yes, we will be rocking the house with the new karaoke machine!
Each girl got to pick out her song....

I cannot wait until I'm alone in the home....watch out American Idol contestants!
Happy 5th Birthday Laney!
To one of my very favorite people in the whole wide world.
I love you so!

Wonderwoman

My almost five year old is a chocolate lover.
Yep, she definitely takes after her momma.
I think I have a serious sugar addiction!
Because she has such a sweet tooth,
my baby begged to take some fun treats to school...
her birthday means TREAT DAY as well!

I couldn't resist; therefore, I spent all afternoon assembling pretzels, unwrapping individual rolos and adding m&ms to the tops.

Laney sat beside me creating artwork for her classmates and teachers.

I love the fact that she cleaned out a lunchable container and created an organizer out of it.

My girl, so green...way to recycle!

320 pretzel/rolo/m&m goodies were bagged up.
I felt bad about such cavity creators...
so I bagged up Laney's other favorite snack food...

1 baggie of rolo snacks
1 baggie of carrot snacks
all put into little brown bags.
I had to write correctly...I NEVER do...and it was H-A-R-D!
My refrigerator has been invaded by 24 bags...
waiting to be taken to school tomorrow morning!

And tonight was the first session of fall gymnastics!
Here are my little gymnasts!
I was the instructor for both classes.
I demonstrated the splits, jumps and forward rolls.
So far, no pain...not yet.
After my productive day, I now need to go sew my cape. I'm feeling a lot like this gal...

Anyone interested in teaching a superhero how to sew?
Or how to make magical gold arm cuffs.
Did those rock or what?
Happy Tuesday!
