...and then there was snow...
the nice fluffy snow,
over at least an inch of crusty, icy snow...
...then came the winds!
A LOT of tree limbs were down in our woods,
but we kept our electricity, which was a HUGE relief!
So today, with the girls home from school and Jon home from work,
everyone had an official SNOW DAY!
(Only emergency vehicles could travel the roads!)
My BIL Kyle plowed our drive, but hubs got the little places.
He said it was quite a workout shoveling ice!
Cousin Madison came down and was ready for the girls to join her outside!
Laney jumped at the chance to FINALLY play in the snow!
Madison even brought down her little snowmobile!
Laney's very first try....so fun!
Uncle Kyle was right by her side cheering her on!(And coaching her how to NOT get stuck or run into anything!)

Jon and Emily finally got the snow itch, so out came the 4-wheeler and innertubes!
Up and down the lane they flew...
until little sis got cold.
Only the TOUGH stayed out while the sun was setting!

Soon, big sister was giggling so much...
figured out that ice under snow = FAST!
My family came inside a bit chilly,
but HOT cranberry orange muffins dethawed them...
oh, and a long time here seemed to help too!
School has already been called off for tomorrow,
so it's popcorn and an AMERICAN IDOL night for us!
Wow! The snow is so beautiful! No snow in Burnet but freezing cold. -1 wind chill. Have a great day off tomorrow! How many days has school been canceled because of the weather? Do you have to make that up?

ReplyDeleteWe're on day 3 in TX and it looks like day 4 will be just as bad! The roads are pure ice! The difference is we don't ever have this so we don't have all the great gear... snow suits, waterproof gloves, 4 wheelers, etc. like y'all!! :( I'm jealous of all your sledding, etc. If we go outside our hands freeze from our cheap gloves! Ha ha!
