What a festive weekend!
F-U-N!
Saturday morning smiled upon me early.
I hit the treadmill before sunrise.
I think I was a little excited about the day ahead.
*****
Hubs ran the Ultimate 10.
10 miles, 20 million hills.
He came home with a medal.
I thought he won!
Not quite, but let's just say he was at the top...
while his wife...bottom.
I ran this race a few years ago.
I was dead last.
Yep, the ambulance was right behind me.
Lovely.
Needless to say, I won't be running that race again! *****
My SIL took Emily and Cousin Megan to a fun mini 4H workshop in the morning.
Oh, the crafts that Emily brought back home made me smile.
I think my little creator had a few smiles too!
****
Once hubs was home from his run, I joined Suzanne and the older girlies for some lunch!

Back home, I finished getting Laney ready...
Her very first birthday party!
It was a Dino Dig.
Earlier this week, Laney and I went to get a gift.
I told her that maybe we could pick out something Dinosaur-ish.
Smart darling picked up a lovely shovel and bucket...
"Momma, this would be great for a dinosaur dig!"
WHAT A LITTLE CREATIVE SHOPPER!
I went with her lovely idea and we added some more to it.
She was so proud to have picked out the gift herself.
(FYI: See those tacky plastic eggs in the urn outside? I fill my two front porch urns with them every year. I love those tacky eggs! Well, we woke up Saturday and our lovely raccoon neighbors must have had a party with them in the wee hours of the night! Those eggs were ALL over our landscaping and front drive! Too funny!)
I took the little girls to the birthday party.
When picking up Madison down the lane, this is what the older girls were doing...
sunning on the rock pile! Yes, we dress up at home! Ha!
The birthday boy's aunt and Grandma are both kindergarten teachers.
And WOW!
The party was amazing!
Those gals, along with the birthday boy's parents, had the children busy, organized and very on task the whole time...and oh how those kiddies laughed!
*****
This is Mrs. Johnson, Emily's kindergarten teacher. Oh how I hope that Laney and Cousin Madison get her in the fall!
The girlies...Love them so much!
Pinata time!
My girl was ready to behead that dino!
And behind Laney is Ms. Rachel...elementary on, and they lived right down the road from each other...their parents still do!
She lead a lot of the games.
I am in awe of kindergarten teachers!
Rachel grew up with Jon and she just laughed when she saw Laney!
She said she felt like she was talking to little Jon! Ha!
*****
We came home and were all out the door an hour later!
Our friends, Brian and Lacey, hosted a FINAL FOUR party!
Great food, fun friends, crazy loud kiddies...and a WONDERFUL WIN FOR BUTLER!
(Butler is about an hour away and some of our friends are alumnae!)
*****
Today our little family of 5 went to a local hot dog stand for lunch!
It doesn't look like it here, but I promise that my little guy LOVES this place!
YUMMMY!
The girls, waiting for their ice cream at our next stop...the ice cream stand!
Takes orders and serves us our cold treats every time!
The temps reached over 70 today...the very first day I opened my screened in porch!
Even though the winds were like 5,000 mph (okay, probably more like 40)...we put out our porch furniture and had a lovely afternoon and evening enjoying some warm weather...and flip flops! ****
Here's to a great weekend!
I like your blog!...Daniel
