Blowin' In The Wind

You can just see the haze...dust...dirt...hot air...

Blowin' in the wind.

Here in farm country, it's crunch time.

It's basically day two of planting.

Many farmers are usually finishing up by now...

cold and rain have kept their tractors out of the fields though...

until now.

If you would have told me 20 years ago that I would marry a farmer's son...

I would have fallen down in complete laughter.

Because I knew NOTHING about farming back then.

Now?

I know some, and am learning more.

Hubs and Laney have been in the tractor the past few night until after dark.

They pack snacks and drinks.

And just today I passed Grandma on our lane.

She was taking lunch to her son and grandson.

They were out in the tractors.

I love that Grandma prepares an amazing homemade lunch (daily)...

puts it in her little basket.

Fresh towels cover each dish.

*****

Even though every.single.field is occupied by a tractor (or more)...

and it's VERY dusty out there...

our little woods is gaining more green.

It's starting to canopy our home...

and I love it!

The temps are up,

so my sweet baby (with his strawberry birth mark and all) can enjoy the sun.

Off goes the shirt, and he goes to our little water pump all day long.

He knows there's water in there and he wants it "Out!!!!!"

And it sure doesn't look like he's going without water or food!

Just look at that belly!

After a big meal, his belly button actually PoPs out!

(and little Budda's new BFF...naked Ken!)

Yes, Spring is definitely putting some more ZEST into our days and evenings.

While those tractors plant row after row...hour after hour...

our hours are spent right out back.

There's something new in the air (besides the dust)...
the days are longer, so bedtime is a little bit later.
We just want to be outside.
Laundry waits a bit more,
flowers have been planted,
and our grill stays out...ready to go.

So, the barns are empty...

probably glad to have some fresh air.

Spring...a new beginning...

So green...

so fresh...

so ALIVE!
