Summer?

The 1st...Day of June (even though I got ahead of myself and wrote the 2nd on my chalkboard.)

The first...day of summer. Here. Today. Started at exactly 3pm!

This morning, my girl received her first award at the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL AWARDS PROGRAM!

I knew she was going to get an award, but decided not to go.

I'm always making such a big to do about every little thing my kiddies do.

I thought I would sit back on this one.

Emily had no idea that parents were even there...WHEW!

My dear friend, Alyssa, took this pix.

There stands my girl...way left...looking at her award.

Chest puffed...yep...proud!

She received honorable mention, but doesn't have a clue.

She said that she had the TOP artwork...not 3rd, 2nd...

I asked her why she thought this...

MY TEACHER SAID GREAT JOB WHEN I RECEIVED MY AWARD!

Well, then!
NOTE: I will ALWAYS regret not going to this...why not celebrate every.single.life.experience?!

Once the school bell rang, the children were dashing here and there...SUMMER!

Once home, I gifted the girls with some little summer needs...

flips, play shorts, fun socks, summer themed books...

and a fresh, yummy new CD: Lemonade Mouth!

It's Disney...and I promise that you will want to even bust a move and sing along!
I can't believe I'm jammin' to Disney!

That's my limit.

Summer...

and pointing towards nature....lightning bug catching, frog and worm collections.

A free flowing schedule.

Stopping to smell every little flower.



Investigating...even if it is checking to see if Mr. Play Doh(less) hair man fits through the tree hole!

Summer...

relaxing with best friends.

Secret codes made in the play house.

Bringing out treasured toys that will be taken EVERYWHERE we go!

This evening, I gifted each girl with a WELCOME SUMMER gift...books and jelly bellies!

These four...

up and down the lane on their bikes.

Running through the mulch paths in the woods.

Insanely sandy and muddy.

Every piece of asphalt and concrete covered in sidewalk chalk.

Screams and giggles echo throughout the woods.
