Faster Than The Blink Of An Eye

Why is it that as the weekdays move by at turtle pace...

We just wait and wait for the weekend.

Then oh how the weekend ZOOMS by?

But, good thing that we can then start to look forward to the next weekend.

*****

Friday afternoon...

my sweet friend Lacey called.

She was going to a gala and wanted some hair and makeup help.

It was so fun helping her get ready...

like going to prom!

My SIL Suzanne came down too.

So much fun!

(I felt so lovely sporting my ponytail and velor track suit! Ha!)

The girls were quite excited to see Lacey as well!

Here's Emily's interpretations:
Saturday evening....

Jon arranged for the two of us to go out on a DATE!

How fun!

And where did we go?

It was such a FAB date!

So wonderful to get out and about!
*****

Today....

A wee bit cold and hazy in our little woods.

Things were starting to brighten up though...
Our long lost friend, Mr. Sun even opened his eyes for a little peek.

So we say goodbye to another weekend...

not until after we have a YUMMY family dinner!

Grandma is coming down with chili...

I'm baking corn muffins and brownies!

Baths, jammies and a bit of Home Edition...

Oh how the girls love to shout: MOVE THAT BUS!

Weekends...Love them!

A Little Sweetness

Oh to add a bit of COLOR...
a bit of sweetness into the day.
*****
My sister-in-law borrows our kitty carrier once a year.
Well, either ours is lost or big kitty George may or may not have broken it due to weight...
So I bought kitty Daisy a temporary carrier.
But, WoW! It was just plain ugly.
So, I did a little work on it.
I think the other animals will SWIRL AROUND and FALL OVER IN ENVY
when they see Suzanne walk in with Miss Daisy!
(This is a surprise, so I hope Suzanne doesn't kill me!)

And why did I want to add a bit of color?

A bit of sweetness?

It all started last night...

I'm only wishing that sugar melts snow!

Today...

It started before sunrise...
quiet...
peaceful.
Outside, it actually looked nice.
Until I actually got out in it!
We have so many rugs out,
trying to keep the garage mess from getting into our home.
Oh I cannot wait until grass replaces snow!

Laney, Henry and I were out and about...

and grabbed a little lunch from Laney's FAV eatery!

After school,
the girls and I decided to work out with Jillian Michaels.
WoW! The girl is T.O.U.G.H.!!!!!

My middle babe wasn't too shabby herself!

I'm thinking it's her workout wear!

Of course, and after-workout treat for the little ones!
Big sister even did some workout moves, so we let her nibble!

Little brother was yelling "MOM" from his crib...
must have smelled the sugar from the cookies!

Tonight I went the BREAKFAST for DINNER route.
My attempt at heart shaped egg sausage casserole and a cinnamon sugar roll for each child.
They loved it!
And as the darkness set back in,
hubs came home from work with these beauties...
Red=Laney
Pink=Emily
White=Henry
I adore my flowers!
Today...it sure had some happy tidbits!
Hope yours did too!

Disney Friends, Friends, Friends

Yesterday we drove into the city...

home of the COLTS...

home of the PACERS...

and temporarily the home of some of our BEST FRIENDS!
After brunch at Cracker Barrel,
we bundled up,
walked some city blocks...
went in...........
We took our seats...
Oh the anticipation!

and our favorite gal and her boyfriend came out to greet us!

Minnie brought a lot of great friends!

My sweet guys were loving the fun!And AHHHHHH! Em's favorite little green men!

...And with characters coming from all corners of the arena...

Henry was in heaven!

Jon and I were in awe...

How would you like to be a character's HIND END?

We re-stocked at intermission....

And FINALLY...
our FAVORITE gal!
Oh how my girls OHHHed and AWWWed!

And of course, one of my favorites!
Do you remember using these trolls as pencil tops?
Our first DISNEY ON ICE experience...
was absolutely FABULOUS!
Everyone had such a great time!
** I really worried how Henry would fare, but Jon kept feeding him popcorn and suckers the whole show...and it worked!
*****
And last night we went out to our GREAT friends' home for a yummy chili dinner!
It was so nice to spend time with the Klatte family!
The Moms!
...and Dads!
And the oldest two...Isabella and Emily!

Sweet Laney...always and artist!

Such an unforgettable Saturday!

Wreckless

We are all stocked up with food...
just like our sweet neighbor Mr. Chickadee
who visited our feeder all day long!

And our other neighbor, Mr. Cardinal, stood post...

just as it...
STARTED TO SNOW!

And oh, WoW! Mr. Bluejay was stoked,

so he did his snow jumpin' jiggy jig...

The little ones and I decided to venture out into the white.

We started right at our "yard".

We own the land on both sides of this road...

Everyone knows to slow down here...

A furry animal is ALWAYS around!

We met up with this new friend.

I just stopped my vehicle, rolled down the window, and snapped away.

Big sweetie was VERY intrigued!

He just smiled and kept nodding his head at us!

Oh and this new love...

right there at the road's edge.

We made our way to our local library...

where dinosaurs awaited our arrival.

And ohhhh...

the books!

My sweet baby with the HAT HAIR...

After a little lunch, we were back home again...
still enjoying the snow.
Once big sister got home from school...
it was GREAT to see everyone curled up with new books!

While they enjoyed, I made homemade vegetable soup!

Grandma came down to join us...

a bubbling hot cherry pie in tow!

*****

Once the soup was slurped,
the pie devoured,
and the coffee sipped...
It was time to wind down...
BUT...A BIT OF A STIR WAS CREATED...
a slide off into the woods!
No, it wasn't me...

Thank goodness for a chainsaw and a tow strap...

two pretty cool guys...

And a story that will be told...many, many times!

Happy Thursday!
